GIMMI DI BASS! Munich is often limited to stuff like the Oktoberfest and - musically speakin - "Giorgio Moroder" Disco music. Few people know that the capital of Bavaria is not only a hot spot for beer but also for deep BASS music. No surprise that Munich based Schlachthofbronx – along with their steadily growing fanbase – are best known and represented in the wide music blog scene. Just one year after they started to produce music they are well-known all around the globe – although not a single track or production has been regularly released yet! Ok, you may find plenty of their tracks in lots of different versions all through the web. At one time even at fader.com, and soon after at Diplo's Mad Decent blog, along with airplay in radio shows of people like The Count & Sinden. “Big fan of Schlachtofbronx even if i cant still pronounce their name properly! All class heat here. We Run This is a great lead track - rocky horns agaawwwwwan!” Sinden (kiss fm/count&sinden/machines dont care/domino) MUNICH BASS! Blogbiz sometimes goes nuts. So please believe the hype – but not always the facts from the net: Schlachthofbronx are NOT a single person/producer from Berlin, but a bunch of three guys (live at least a two tag team) based in Munich, Bavaria. The home of Schlachthofbronx is to be found in the heart of the city, between the goods yard, the slaughterhouse (hence the name Schlachthofbronx) where business takes place all night long. Here originates Munich Bass, a dirty hybrid of African Kuduro, South American Cumbia, Carribean Soca /Dancehall, Brazilian Baile Funk, Cape Verdian Funana, American Bootybass, UK Dubstep - and Bavarian Schranz! “So buttery, oh those wacky Germans! Get your Kraut music game tight, for the love of all that is good and holy. We all love Kraftwerk n' Tangerine Dream n' Can n' The Scorpions, and now we love THIS!” (height five seven) Schlachthofbronx is not just a tongue twister for the makers of anglo hipster blogs. Even the fact that three Krauts shamelessly mix African, Latin & Carribean Beats with every single form of Bass music causes confusion. Not enough, Schlachthofbronx go totally insane and hybridise even that weird stuff again with Balkan Brass and cross-grained traditional Bavarian "Volksmusik". A sick mixture nobody else has ever tried before. “Germany's sickest ghettobass magicians. Our Black Forrest buds (ok Munich), Schlachthofbronx, who are on FIRE, drop another banger. I've never met them but Munich's Schlachthofbronx seem like they are genuinely a bit nuts.” (ghettobassquake) SLEEP IS COMMERCE! Schlachthofbronx prefer to spend most of their time in clubs. As a DJ team with a hyperactive live set or how they call it "sampler- / kaospad- / drunkendancin- / syncronized towelshakin- / ravesiren- / whistles- / confetticanons- / ghetto carnevalaction" - or just afterwards relaxing at the counter. Both preferred while enjoying some Malawi Gin, Jamaican Ginger Beer or some "Red Bull & Guinness" (# 09) - the "Rum & Coca Cola" of the Ghettorave generation. Schlachthofbronx travel not only through the web – but although worldwide through the clubs: from Europe to Africa meeting other producers, founding new projects. That's why the list of collaborators on their debut album is really a long one. In South Africa they play some shows along with Playdoe, "Afrogalactic Hero“ and rapper of Sweat.X, Spoek Mathambo, are part of the game as well. The last one is together with Bigspace also known as "Slushpuppykids" – who did three tracks on the album. Too confusing? Nevermind, the speed Schlachthofbronx does collaborations nobody really can keep up with. DAGGER! DAGGER! DAGGER! To stop high culture critics and a debate of "Niveau" right from the beginning: Schlachthofbronx themselves describe their music as "Subtle sounds different!". Or as they told a famous German newspaper: it's "like a rhino in an autoscooter/bumper car". Primitive and pumping. That's what it's all about: celebrating a musical clash of cultures without stepping into the folklore–trap. Instead Schlachthofbronx create a musical feedback on (for just once meant in a positive sense) a globalised world of music, reflecting an actual multicultural life reality of young club kids who look the same all over the world: a wild bunch wearing flamboyant T-Shirts and colourful sneakers, playing vuvuzelas and rave sirens, bootyshakin', towelshakin' like Bafana Bafana has just won the FIFA Soccer World Cup 2010. Or in other words: At Ghettorave everybody puts his cultural background into the mixer and Schlachthofbronx pushes the start button. A Cosmopolitan Volksfest. “OOOOOMMMMMGGGGG! Fuuuck, dooooods! Your set yesterday wuz fuckin' KILLA! Couldn't believe it! N' your trax R insane”! Edu K (man recordings/sweat it out/rio) HYPIE HYPIE - GHETTORAVE! What DMZ Night at Brixton's Mass Hall is for Dubstep, that's monthly Hypie Hypie night at Rote Sonne club for Munich Bass. Schlachthofbronx together with DJ Taming The White Rhino invite like-minded musicians like Amanda Blank, (USA), Radoclit (UK), Niyi (UK), Sweat X (RSA), DJ Manaia (PT), South Rakkas Crew (USA), Congorock (Italy), el Hijo de la Cumbia (ARG), Boy 8Bit or Mumdance (UK) to celebrate a glorious club rave together. Nights where new friendship, remixes and collabos arise from… 2009 - the year of the BAVARIAN BULLDOZERS! After their constant presence on all the important blogs around the net as well as being championed by taste makers such as Diplo, Haaksman, The Count & Sinden, DJ Rupture and Buraka Som Sistema, summer 2009 will see the release of their debut album on Munich’s Disko B label along with some more upcoming EPs, singles, remixes….
