ambulanz is the first single from the forthcoming album "kollision". mavie plays rough, emotional indierock. Far from being perfect and high gloss polished, but with a quality, which cant be achieved with blunt perfection: passion! The smooth, unagitated, partly dreamy singing from Hendrik Hellwinkel competes with distorted, sharp guitars, feedbacks and an impulsive, melodic bass. Having a british touch, the lyrics predominantly negotiate life as a young person - loneliness, insecurity and alienation, but also love are central motives. An exciting mix of toughness and emotion wich however assembles to a harmonic ensemble. The drums are straight and virtuosic at the same time - and are fighting with the hard, but melodic, guitars for attention. Even the early U2 or the todays coldplay sometimes flash up. But their style can also be compared with current, German musik, especially from Hamburg. mavie are touring Germany with their forthcoming album kollision (street date 18.01.2008) from march 2008 and can be experienced on several festivals.
